Samson's
Legendary Feats.
Samson, a Nazirite of old,
His strength a tale to be told,
Performer of superhuman feats,
In his hands, power did meet.
A lion he slew with bare hands,
Defeated it in its own lands,
With might that seemed beyond man,
Samson's legend began to expand.
An army he massacred with ease,
Using only a donkey's jawbone, we do believe,
His foes fell before him like wheat,
Samson's power was indiscreet.
But with his strength came pride and lust,
And he betrayed his God and trust,
He fell in love with Delilah fair,
And shared his secret unaware.
His hair, the source of all his might,
Was cut by Delilah one dark night,
And Samson lost his power then,
A victim of his own wild sin.
Blinded and bound, he faced his fate,
A Philistine's prisoner to berate,
But in one final act of might,
He brought their temple down in sight.
With one last breath, he took them all,
His enemies, his downfall,
And though he died that fateful day,
His legacy lives on to say,
That strength and power, pride and lust,
Can lead to downfall and mistrust,
So let us learn from Samson's end,
And keep our faith, our God, our friend.
“Those he killed at his death were more than
those he had killed during his life”- Judges 16:10
