PARABLES

Jesus’ Parables in the New Testament

Jesus spoke in parables,
Stories with a hidden meaning,
Teaching lessons to his disciples,
And the crowds that were listening.

He talked about a sower,
Scattering seeds upon the ground,
Some fell on rocky soil,
Others on thorns were found.

He told of a prodigal son,
Who squandered all he had,
But was welcomed back with open arms,
By his father who was glad.

He spoke of a good Samaritan,
Who helped a stranger in need,
Ignoring differences in religion and race,
He showed kindness indeed.

He shared a story of a rich man,
Who ignored a poor beggar's plight,
In the afterlife, their roles were reversed,
The beggar was now in a place of light.

Jesus' parables still resonate,
With people of every age,
They challenge us to love and serve,
And to live lives that are truly good.

So let us listen to his words,
And learn from what he taught,
For in his parables, we find wisdom,
And the love that he has brought.
