In robes of white, they stand and preach,
Words of faith, that they love to teach. But many among them, have lost their way,
And let their ego lead them astray.
Their hearts are tainted, with greed and pride,
They play politics, with the diocese,
They chase after wealth, and wield their power,
Ignoring the cries of the weak and the poor.
Oh, how the people miss good shepherds,
Whose hearts are pure, and words are gentle,
Who love their flock, and care for their needs,
And show them the way to wipe away tears.
Pastors today turn their backs on those in need,
Ignoring the cries they should take heed.
Except one, pastors I've seen disappoint the sufferers,
As they preach and pray in their ivory tower.

[ Inspiration for the above lines came from my 5 year old granddaughter who asked me with great surprise while watching a video "The Good Samaritan", "Why, why does the Pastor walk away leaving the wounded man?"
My response to her question was, "Pastors won't help. They are busy with their own work. We must understand them." ]
