OT - First Disobedience

       Disobedience

in Eden

In Eden's garden, fair and bright,
God's creations lived in light,
Adam and Eve, in pure delight,
Lived in innocence, a heavenly sight.

But the serpent came with cunning words,
And Eve, beguiled, her heart stirred,
She ate the fruit and then conferred,
To Adam, who followed without a word.

Thus, they both disobeyed God's command,
And sin entered the world, a dreadful brand,
They were cast out of the garden, unmanned,
The first disobedience, a tragic stand.

Yet, in their fall, we see hope arise,
For God's love is beyond all size,
He sent his son, a sacrifice,
To redeem us all and make us wise.

"OF Mans First Disobedience, and the Fruit
Of that Forbidden Tree, whose mortal tast
Brought Death into the World, and all our woe,
With loss of Eden, till one greater Man
Restore us, and regain the blissful Seat ... " - John Milton
