Humble Prayer Heard.
One with pride, one with dismay.
One man stands so tall and bold,
The other's head is bowed and low.
The first man speaks with lofty words,
His voice so loud, his message heard.
He thanks his God for all he's done,
And basks in the glory he has won.
The second man is quiet, meek,
His words a whisper, soft and weak.
He asks for help, and begs for grace,
And humbly seeks his Maker's face.
Two men praying, side by side,
But one is filled with arrogance and pride.
The other bows his head in shame,
And humbly seeks to know God's name.
May we learn from the humble man,
To seek the Lord with all we can.
For in humility we find grace,
And God will always bless the meek.

Humility and Simplicity are signs of real sophistication. Only when we grow wise, we become humble.
Humility keeps us tranquil in times of trouble and trials. It wins for us God’s favour as it is a virtue pleasing to Him.
As the Psalmist says, God leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble His way. He lifts up and adorns the humble with salvation. He says that the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.
In the Proverbs, we read that the reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life. With pride comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom and honor.
Peter exhorts us to humble ourselves, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt us. Paul asks us to be humble and count others more significant than ourselves.
Christ Himself says, “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” According to Jesus, whoever humbles himself like a child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. In Mount Sermon, He assures, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
