True happiness is not found in gold,

Nor in the treasures that we hold,

It doesn't come from fame or power,

Or the heights that we might tower.

True happiness is found within,

A peace that comes from deep within,

It's not the things that we possess,

But the love and joy that we express.

It's in the smile of a child's face, 

Or the warmth of a friendly chat,

It's in the beauty of a kitten at the gate,

Or the laughter of friends visiting us.

True happiness is in simple, nameless things,

It's in the joy of relationships,

And, in a life that's truly free.

That's when we know we've found so much.

So if you seek true happiness, 

Look within and not the outward richness,

And find joy in connecting with people,

And humbly respecting everyone.
