 Find a Silver Lining in Forgetfulness 

In a world of screens and clicks, 

We hunt down those we love.

Using digital devices as our tricks, 

We spy and pry, search and dig.

But as we search and dig and spy, 

Our values slip away, 

Trust and loyalty slowly die, 

As we misuse screens each day.

We've forgotten how to connect, 

To look each other in the eye, 

Instead we rely on gadgets, 

And forget the value of a hello or a  hug.

So let's put down our screens, 

And embrace what's truly real, 

For it's in our human connections, 

That our values we'll reveal.

What dread is this constant surveillance, 

The loss of privacy, of intimate acquaintances? 

We sacrifice our trust, our faith in each other,

All because of this digital smother.

Our family bonds, once so strong and true, 

Now strained and fractured. 

We've lost our intimacy,  privacy and care,

Replaced by a camera, a device on our palms.

We've become obsessed, with this digital tool,

We capture every moment, every memory bad.

But what of the moments, that we fail to record,

The moments of love, the moments adored?

We've traded our souls, for this digital age, 

We've forgotten what it means to relate and love. 

Our relationships suffer, under this constant gaze, 

We've lost our connection, in so many ways.

So put down your phone, your camera, your device, 

And take a moment, to regain your life.

Reconnect with loved ones, family and friends, 

And immortalise the moments, that truly matter.

Let us not hold on to bitter moments tight,

Replay, relive and let bitterness consume us day and night. 

God gave us forgetfulness as a gift, 

A way to heal, to let the past drift, 

So let us embrace this grace with open arms, 

And find peace, love, and joy in life's charms.
