On Mother's Day, 2024

  I, at your age

In youth's golden age,
I danced with grace,
Swift feet in rooms,
A bustling chase.
Order from chaos,
Cooking, washing, serving,
With vigour, I juggled
Double responsibility-
At home and in college.
Task upon task,
Shouldering burdens
With a smile on lips.
No question to ask,
Saying "yes" to
The world's every task,
Loads of duties,
A multilayered flask.

But time, relentless,
Its toll it takes,
Sight fades,
Teeth vanish,
Hair forsakes,
Aged and worn,
As the years quake,
Mocked by youth,
Lost to the world.

Yet within,
Spirit still glows,
Memories dance,
Joy in life's journey,
Its ebb and flow,
Beauty in resilience.

In twilight's gentle hue, Wisdom dawns,
Age may dim,
But the soul is radiant,
For FAITH is rooted
In God Almighty.
